Working on my master studio project I had to find an article on which i could base my research on and interestingly enough I came across one that stems from
Joint Research venture of Pixar animation studios and Berkley university of California. Article describes development of new software. One that creates a “designer friendly” work environment. It’s called Eden: a professional multitouch tool for constructing virtual organic environments. It detaches itself from complexity and focuses towards simplifying the use of work tools and interaction between the designer and the interface. That way it eases the work of the artist/designer. After reading it I could’ve identified with work that they are conducting and my personal ideas for my master studio research project. Now in general sense this paper has very little or no bearing with my work. The development of this software package creates ease in artists/ designers work environment. Thru the newly designed savvy toolset and it’s usage thru simplistic interface gives stage artists freedom with minimal set of tools that are as much efficient as complex ones. This type of knowledge serves as a blueprint for my idea that I have for the project. This article and analysis of software’s such as Autodesk sketchbook pro will be the base from which I can take notes that could serve as a valuable data as I will be conducting the practical work.
